Last year over 12.3 million of us tuned in to watch Nancy Birtwhistle claim the much coveted Great British Bake Off trophy, a figure which eclipsed the BBC’s coverage of the World Cup! So it’s pretty safe to say that the UK loves to bake, whether that’s watching, participating or tasting… and at Sweetpea & Willow, we are no different!
However, whilst the delicious treats get us salivating, there’s another part of the show that gets our senses tingling – the charming kitchen decor. Housed in the world’s largest tent, the show’s kitchen has just enough country charm without losing the all important functionality.
As an homage to the greatest show that has ever graced the tellybox, we have hand-picked some of our favourite items that will help you get the ‘Bake Off’ look. Our shabby chic style display cabinets are not only great for storage, but also for adding a focal point to the kitchen; and what’s more, their neutral tones can fit within any current colour scheme. So start display your crockery and baking equipment with pride.
Or why not re-create your very own ‘Bake Off’ cooking station with our Marble Top Kitchen Trolley. Made with reclaimed pine, this rustic looking trolley has stacks of storage for your ingredients, allowing you to bake with abandon on its marble surface.
But what do you do once you have created your showstopper I hear you cry? Well, if you are anything like me and you have a penchant for cake then you eat it all immediately, but if you are like most people and a little less glutinous then you will require a cake stand to showcase your showstoppers on.
It’s pretty universal that cake goes hand in hand with a cup of tea, and if you are looking to host your own tea party then look no further than our beautiful Wonderland Stripe Cup and Saucer sets – elegant and sophisticated my dear!
If you would like more inspiration on the Bake Off look then take a peak at our entire dining range. The only thing left to say is “Ready, Steady….BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!”
