In this day and age, everyone goes through their creative process differently. While others may find it easy to have a vision of what they think might look good, others may need a little bit of inspiration.
I had a gander at a few celebrity homes to see what they looked like and what their stylists said about the inspirations behind each room. Let’s start with the Kardashians; with multiple estates, there is ample opportunity to be creative in their homes.
Celebrity Interior Designer Jeff Andrews, who has an extensive profile of clients like Kris Jenner, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian and most recently Kylie Jenner combines ‘warmth sophistication and most importantly a sense of home.’ If we take a look at Jenners home we see each room has a motif;
Liveable glamour is what Kris Jenner was going for and through her home we see how Andrews incorporated style but with practicality as well.
The Grand entrance is monochrome tiled that complement the low hanging chandelier that all reflect on each other, the two trees create symmetry and continued style. This entrance is one you will want to walk into.
Kris said’ Jeff is a mastermind of design and committed to keeping a complete flow to the entire project. He is so creative and talented and has such an amazing way of putting the clients at ease.’ We think this is because Andrews and his team listen and adapt to the client’s needs.
In the dining room, Kris already had multiple chandeliers around the house that she wasn’t using. Andrews just picked his favourite and set the scene. It’s not always about buying new things when decorating your house. Sometimes look at the pieces you already have they could be adapted.
Kourtney Kardashian said ‘I have always been afraid of color, and Jeff has helped me get over that. When I have a crazy vision, Jeff tweaks it, adds his ideas and helps make it perfection’ and we can see that adaptation in her reveal of her living room:
There is no one else better to talk us through this delicious creation than Jeff Andrews himself “A black and white color scheme anchors the room with touches of bright colour that tie it all together. The black and white horizontal stripes on the wall make the room appear larger while the multi-custom pendants I designed give it height. The coffee table was a fabulous vintage find of Kourtney’s, as were many of the accessories and art. Kourtney’s main priority was that the room feel whimsical and unique, with an Alice-In-Wonderland surrealism to it.”You mustn’t be afraid to try new things or take a plunge in an entirely different direction. Visualising the room you want to create is important. Whether you have a large or small house, it all starts with an idea.
Andrews continues to explain “We are already in every dimension, so thereareno shifting dimensions just shifting perspectives. All possible futures already exist. Which one will YOU choose is the question. Life is co-creation. Being consciously “present” aware of our energy is the best thing we can do forour selfand the planet. It’s not our job to “fix” everything, or others, it’s our job to be our authentic selves in each moment doing what we truly feel. This is how we attune the ego and higher self.”
Here at Sweetpea & Willow, we take pride in creating visual greatness and new never afraid to test dimensions. Come and have a visit to our showrooms and see what we create and what we can help you build too. We are always looking for inspiration; This is where we hand over the baton to you.
