I’m sure there are plenty of you who will agree that when moving into a new home or just doing a spot of redecorating, choosing the right colour scheme can seem like a daunting task. It can be difficult to know where to begin when working with a blank canvas. What colours should I use? What if nothing goes together?
Quite often I find that choosing your main pieces of furniture first can help to dictate your style and colour scheme of the rest of your home, but if you’re not quite ready to go for the big pieces, I find that art can be a real inspiration. In fact, by choosing a beautiful piece to hang on your wall, you can then pick colours directly from it and use them to influence everything else you put in the room.
Far Beyond – Jessica Zoob
One of our absolute favourite artists, whom we’ve been in love with for years, is Jessica Zoob. Her abstract oil paintings capture landscapes and emotions beautifully through broad, relaxed paint strokes, and gorgeous use of colour. The way that her colours contrast each other make for really exciting pieces, and this style can so easily translated to your own interiors.
We’ve chosen a couple of our favourite pieces by Jessica to show you how you can style your home around her work:
1. Eichholtz Giardino Modern Armchair, 2. Candy Stripe Cups and Saucers, 3. Art Deco Side Table – Gold
4. Delphine Chaise Longue, 5. Areca Palm Tree, 6. Eichholtz Holmes Floor Lamp – Gold
The simply stunning ‘Still Water Dancing Lines’ from her ‘Passion’ collection is vibrant and powerful, mixing bright pinks and deep turquoise to excellent effect. And we think that our Delphine Chaise in Antique Rose Luxury Velvet works beautifully with the Eichholtz Giardino Armchair. Bright paintings add character and fun to any room.
My-Perfect-Moment Jessica Zoob
1. Eichholtz Coulture Floor Lamp, 2. Designers Guild Phipps Sky Rug, 3. Glossy White Coffee Table
4. Eichholtz Fringe Chandelier, 5. Eichholtz Celeste Folding Screen – Green Velvet, 6. Eichholtz Provocateur Designer Sofa
‘My Perfect Moment’ is a charming and dramatic piece, which appears to depict a calm landscape on a grey day. The darker tones of this piece lend themselves well to a more formal interior, with darker, more muted colours on show. I personally adore our ‘Provocateur Sofa’ against the ‘Celeste Folding Screen’, both by Eichholtz, and our ‘Designers Guild Phipps Sky Rug’ helps to pull everything together beautifully.
