MEET EVA
When designing interiors, I am most inspired by…
Colour, pattern and texture – all with a luxury, modern African vibe. I strongly believe that every interior should reflect the homeowners’ personality and style.
My favourite room in my home is…
My bedroom. It is, in comparison to the rest of my home, quite calm and has a lilac, beige and white colour scheme. I try to keep it free of electronics and use diffusers with essential oils and layered lighting for a cosy atmosphere. I love waking up looking at my wallpapered feature wall in soft lilac, which brings me joy every morning.
My dream destination to visit would be…
I have travelled quite extensively, but am still planning a trip to Rwanda to stay in Bisate Lodge, do a safari to see the endangered mountain gorillas and walk the canopy walkways of Nyungwe Forest. I would then head to Kigali for a few days of African city life.
Another destination on my bucket list is Bali. This would be a mixture of work and relaxation for me, as I would explore the traditional Indonesian batik techniques and enjoy the amazing beaches.
The thing I love most about my job is…
Being my own boss, creating designs that make people happy, and bringing African design to the forefront of the global interior design world.
My top 3 dinner guests would be…
Olivier Rousteing, Billy Porter and Oprah Winfrey. Fashion, drama and great conversations – my perfect evening!
An invaluable piece of information that I’ve received is…
Your true authentic self is the most beautiful version of you. And always smile, it can change someone’s day!
A popular interior trend for 2022 is…
Bold, vivid colours mixed with calming beige tones. The beauty is in the mix!
My dream piece from Sweetpea & Willow would be….
The Eichholtz Tondo Sofa
