As worldwide dealers of Eichholtz furniture, Sweetpea and Willow are obviously big admirers of the culture and philosophy of the Eichholtz company, brand and family. Eichholtz seems so steeped in history and has made such a stamp on the market that you will find it surprising to hear that the company was founded only twenty years ago. Mr Eichholtz went travelling with his friend Auke Wichers and on their journeys, through Asia and the United States they encountered furniture that matched Mr Eichholtz' passion for ambience. Under the name Eichholtz Overseas Decorations, Mr Eichholtz imported furniture, lighting and accessories. Starting with Indonesia, he soon expanded to countries such as Burma, India, China and Thailand with Auke Wichers as his right-hand man. Gaining inspiration from a variety of sources around the world, it is this fusion of impressions and ideas that creates the typical and unique Eichholtz world. In their manufacture, Eichholtz still deploys traditional, craft-based qualities like cast copper, cut wood, blow glass and weave rattan.
